Red Sky At Morning. Waiting for the rain and the wind. And the World Cup semi-final.

Cloudy but going up to 40 degrees here in beautiful DuPage County today. Couldn’t ask for a better December day.
Can’t decide on rooting for Croatia as the “little guy” or for Argentina for the sake of Messi. Should be a fun match.

Was thinking about Illini Football and playing Mississippi State in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa.
What a huge loss to college football, Coach Mike Leach, MSU’s head coach passed suddenly and he would’ve make that Bowl Week so enjoyable, including for the Illini.
Leach was one of a kind, it woulda made the Illini bowl experience even better. Feel heartsick for his family and many friends.
It’ll be great to see the Illini January 2nd, it’ll be a bit less without the experience of Leach

Firearm deer season is over down here. What was once the best goose hunting in the country is relegated to a few ceremonial local bird hunts. Yuck.

Agree with Willy. Mike Leach was such a great coach, and innovator. I’ll really miss listening to his interviews.

In world of control freak, media shunning college football coaches, Leach was a breath of fresh air. Prayers to his family, staff, players and friends.

Still in shock over Sen. Bennett. A good man and an excellent public servant is gone just like that. I know his seat will have to be filled, but even after the relatively short time he held it, I don’t envy the person who has to follow him.
