Respublica reports, and it’s confirmed, that Illinois Congressman John Shimkus underwent heart surgery today.
…to repair a condition called “severe mitral valve regurgitation”. He is presently recovering in a St. Louis hospital and is expected to remain there for several days after which he will spend the rest of the Easter Congressional recess at home.
A close friend of the Congressman said he was doing well.

Good to hear that Shimkus is doing well. I hope he makes a full recovery and is back in Congress representing Illinois soon.
