And I see all the groundhogs are agreeing on 6 more weeks of winter. Well since it feels like winter hasn’t really started, 6 more weeks is ok with me.

I wish there was a ‘Made in Illinois’ list somewhere. I’d truly prefer to buy something made here, but I rarely know what that is.
Case in point- Been buying nails for decades only to discover several years ago that Maze brand nails are made in Peru, IL. Now I make it a point to go to the retailer I know carries them when I need nails.

Horween leather. Official leather of NFL footballs and used in a bunch of USA-made products, including Allen Edmonds boots and straps for Shinola watches.
Definitely makes Elston/Armitage/Ashland smell like a tannery if we’re on the state aroma question…

I’m stretching the definition of ‘made’ but I vote for the horseradish farms in the Metro-East.

I also started Makers Madness around 10, expecting to be brown liquor drunk by lunch time.

What’s really interesting is to look at the machines and equipment that IL makes that then are used to make other things (or restore electricity or minimize outages, etc.)
