* Press release…
SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Senate President Don Harmon tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Prior to attending session at the Capitol, Harmon home tested twice. Both were negative.
A SHIELD Illinois test administered Tuesday came back positive. A subsequent test at a health care office also came back positive.
Harmon will isolate and not attend legislative session and functions this week per CDC guidelines.
For anyone exposed to COVID-19, the CDC now recommends that instead of quarantining, you wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested on day five.

Hoping Pres. Harmon heals soon.
Thankful for the vaccines and boosters and that we’re much better off on this than we were 2-3 years ago today, but still not wanting to let the guard down, at least for a long time. Especially since I am immunocompromised.

This is dependent on wearing that ‘high-quality mask’ appropriately. Health care facilities I’ve been in recently require (and remind with signage) that masks are to be worn there. The number of people wearing masks, but not covering noses is crazy. Toddlers during the height of the pandemic wore their masks correctly, but some supposed adults can’t manage it?
