  5. The Sangamon County Clerk is temporarily relocated to the old SJ-R building. That’s where you go to vote.

  6. ==relocated to the old SJ-R building==
    Springfield is littered with the corpses of old newspaper buildings. You need to be more specific.

    That’s the NEW old SJ-R building. The OLD old SJ-R building is under the ownership of the state of Illinois and houses CMS offices.

  7. firing up the necessaries for the snowblower in case that is needed. and buying more beer.

    Comment by Amalia Friday, Mar 3, 23 @ 9:19 am

  8. =and buying more beer.=

    I find that snow and cold weather make me want to drink whiskey more so than beer. Or Wassail if it is before Christmas.

    Comment by JS Mill Friday, Mar 3, 23 @ 9:32 am

  9. @ JS Mill

    Real whisky does not have an “e” in it. /s

  10. More of a glühwein than wassail fan. And I usually drink it from Nov through the end of January, because the pre-holiday season is too small for something I like so much.

  11. @JS Mill, the bourbon supply is in good shape, the beer, not so much. gotta keep boys and neighbors happy.

    Comment by Amalia Friday, Mar 3, 23 @ 10:11 am

  12. @Amalia, the snow shifted so far to the south and east that I won’t need to fire up my snowblower at all. But I got the beer just to be safe.

  13. @The Truth Yes, safety first in the face of inclement weather. *sips bourbon reflectively*

  15. Chicago bidding on Amazon HQ2 feels like a decade ago with all that has happened since, but Amazon has halted HQ2 construction in Virginia.

  16. Utah is currently updating their state flag, from their state seal on a dark blue background to something much more snazzy featuring a beehive.

    I know it’s very low on the list of priorities but not having an ugly state flag would be neat.

  17. ==but not having an ugly state flag would be neat.==

    We truly do have an awful state flag. It’s Microsoft ClipArt.

  18. Got the snowy stuff in 60827 right now. Funny the local winds were just blowing N to S, even as the storm comes up from the South. Radar is a big mess.
