Will the Senate stay in till 9:30/noon/3PM/later?
Will we see a new land speed record as a fleet of cars with state senator license plates stream north on I-55 to outpace the storms?
Will the aforementioned storms today be nothing/something?
Will a new dress shirt appear after Spring Break?
I just hope to have my trees upright and my cars undented after today.

Be safe out there everyone. Looks like a nasty weather day.
Birds were going bonkers this morning a sure sign of something coming.

Schools over here is West Central Illinois are closing early today, due to anticipated storms. On the bright-side, it finally feels like Spring.

I miss Rep. McLaughlin’s shirt already.

Puzzled as to how Lightfoot’s campaign failed to object to Johnson’s nominating petitions. Unpaid bills to the municipality can result in a candidate being barred from the ballot under Cinkus v. the Village of Stickney Electoral Board. What a missed opportunity for the incumbent.

Happy to see a White Sox victory last night. Cease was in mid-season form with 10 strikeouts. Everyone had a base hit except Jimenez. Vaughn came through when it counted most.
Unfortunately, the sloppy baserunning habits of the LaRussa era continued with 2 outs at 3rd base.

Waiting patiently for Senators Durbin, Duckworth, Sanders and Warren to condemn JB Pritzker’s gift to Norfolk-Southern Corporation of $200 million of Illinois Taxpayers’ money for rail improvement around Chicago. In 2022 NSC had revenue of $12.75 billion and profits over $3 billion. They bought Cincinnati-Southern Railroad for $1.62 billion. NSC has the cash-flow to pay for their rail improvement projects. NSC paid out $4 billion in dividends last year. Waiting for the US Attorney or Illinois Attorney General or Legislative Audit Committee look into this.

You think the Bears deserve tax breaks?

In my part of Illinois? I’m retiring after 35 1/2 years working for the State of Illinois (with another 2+ years of benefit time added to that), with stops at the Bureau of the Budget (now GOMB), the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and the Illinois State Board of Education. Mrs. Budgeteer has been retired for a bit already after 39 years teaching in Springfield District 186. We’re both happy now.

Al, do you have a link? The only thing I can find that approaches your description is yesterday’s announcement of $200 million in funding for freight projects, which includes port, highway, and rail projects throughout the state.

What criminality are you even suggesting.
Be specific, pointed, and direct.

Oh my goodness, you’re an idiot. The announcement was made yesterday in Decatur.
“Other projects in the state receiving the $197.5 million in awards include: $40 million for capacity improvements at the Illinois 17 interchange with Interstate 57 in Kankakee, $4.3 million for congestion and safety upgrades at the Kaskaskia Regional Port District, $7.2 million for expanding three interstate rest areas to add 122 parking spaces for commercial trucks and $18.8 million for a new Illinois 50 bridge over the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal.”

Go crawl back in your hole where you belong.

Legislature killed that off.

It’s windy out there. But yesterday was warm enough to grill out on my patio. 2nd time this year so far. High 40s and up I consider OK grilling weather, otherwise I refuse to shiver while I cook.

Allergies kicking up, spring is here. Keep an eye on the weather today, and tonight.

This might be a historically bad severe weather outbreak across the state. All my weather follows on Twitter seem pretty shook.

Glad my grandaughter had the foresight to return to Chicago last night instead of tonight when the weather is uncertain.

Waiting for my Alma Mater (Virginia Tech) to tip off today. My hope and prayer is that the meet Iowa in the finals on Sunday. That would be a wonderful changing of the guard in women’s basketball.

It should be an ‘interesting’ night for the weather.
We will see when the Chicago stations end up switching to all-weather all-time tonight.

Severe weather approaching. Tie down the lawn furniture, garbage cans, etc. or put them inside a garage of basement. When thunder roars, go indoors (and stay there). If you’re driving, turn around; don’t drown in fast-moving flood water or streets flooded deeper than you can see. Don’t waste time opening windows if there’s a tornado..TAKE COVER. Even an above-ground closet or a bathtub can save lives and prevent injuries. And remember emergency services may not be able to get to you quickly if it gets really bad out there. IEMA, FEMA, NOAA, have storm safety tips.
