Good morning all.

The weatherman says we can expect two more days in the 90s then back to regular September weather. We could use a bit or rain in beautiful DuPage County, but all in all a nice summer.
Except, of course, for the stinkin’ White Sox, but I repeat myself.

DuQuoin fair was a smashing success this year. Good weather and better scheduling helped alot.

If you have a home grease trap (sometimes called a sump, or a catch basin), when is the last time it was pumped out? Might look like a small manhole cover in your basement floor, or outside in the back or even front yeard. Mine filled up over 29 years, and is being pumped out today. Fortunately this did not affect the bathroom sanitary drain line.

earlier it was still in the 70s yet it was so darn hot. is it the humidity? the angle of the sun? that I’m just so tired of the heat? I love summer but not too hot summer.

Any reports yet on how much the Springfield State Fair cost taxpayers? Can DuQuoin beat it?

There’s always someone who wants to whine about the state fairs. We see that pathetic argument made very single year.

The State Fairs are not meant to be money-makers, they are a service to the citizens. If they can recoup some costs, that’s great but they are not meant to be a profit-making endeavor, never were.
