No snow yet. Fingers crossed it stays away.

Just a dusting of snow here in beautiful DuPage County. Hope it warms up a bit for the trick-or-treaters later today….

The standard Halloween in Chicago is cold and wet enough that every costume is covered by a snorkel parka. Ballerina in a parka. Cowboy in a parka. Etc. Might as well just wear the parka and go as one of the cast from John Carpenter’s “The Thing”.

Cold in Springfield. I usually get about 120 trick or treaters, but I’m thinking it won’t be that high this year.

Cold and sunny in BloNo. I covered my planters last night to keep the plants from freezing. I’m kind of worried if they will survive tonight’s predicted colder weather. The big pots I can moved into the garage but two planters are way too heavy.
I hope I get trick or treaters as I have a large quantity of candy to give out. I don’t want too much candy to be left to tempt me. I have lost over 40 pounds and do not want to gain any back!

I’m glad I disconnected my outside hoses a couple of days ago.

Back in the day when I lived in the suburbs and got a lot of trick or treaters, I always bought candy I didn’t like. That way, I wouldn’t eat it beforehand and run out, but also, if there were leftovers, I’d take them to the office rather than eat them.
