Morning everyone, feels weird for it to be an Election Day elsewhere but not here (at least in chicago, unsure if there’s other municipal races anywhere today).
Any races you’re watching around the country? I’m curious about that OH ballot issue

I remember some local races and ballot initiatives on odd-numbered year Election Days in the area of western Illinois I grew up in as recently as the mid-1990s, but nothing since.
It would make more sense to move the consolidated elections in odd-numbered years from April to the real election day in November. Like many other states are doing today. Maybe it would help increase turnout for the local races too. If a local primary is needed, then it can be held around Labor Day.
And local Election Days and all primary days should also be state holidays, including for state employees.

It was so nice out in Chicago last night and already feels like this morning is pulling a “Anything you can do I can do better”
Long may this mild Chicagoland fall last.

Thank you to the commenter last week who posted about the book “A House That Made History” by M.K. Pritzker. It is a beautiful informative book that I am enjoying. I have already gifted a copy to a friend who loves history.
