So glad to see Governor Pritzker and President Gardiner quickly agree to get union workers on the work site to work alongside non-union workers to building housing for asylees. Dragging this out with a picket would have only caused human harm to people already fleeing oppression.
There is a time and a place for everything, and now is the time to save lives and help people. Good work labor. Good work Governor.

Covid negative, and back to work after five days, with a mask (current protocol).
That Paxlovid medicine is crazy stuff. After four doses (two days) I was pretty much symptom free (except for the taste of the medicine). I recommend it to anyone over 50 and those who are immunocompromised. In our house at least, it beat the alternative of being symptomatic for 7 or more days (as was the case the first time we got sick).

The SIU football team played extremely well against Idaho and nearly won their playoff game. What a great season for the Dawgs! SIU Basketball destroyed SLU, 101-62 on the same day. Regional funk going around that isn’t COVID, flu, or RSV but lingers in the chest for a while. Steroids are helping many of us power through until Christmas.

The crappie bite on Shelbyville is on fire right now. Whem you find them (when not if) they’re schooled up tight and you couldn’t move them with a stick of dynamite. And they’re fat and hungry.
