Super slick out there today. Kids’ schools are doing e-learning and the office has gone work from home. Stay safe everyone.

Really, really glad I work from home. My old commute routes are ice covered and accidents abound.

Roads are not terrible hear, but drivers are and people have lost the ability to calmly deal with even the slightest hurdle. and these are country folk who are supposed to be salt of the earth types, soft as the city people they deride so often.

The US has always overprioritized individualism to a higher degree than some other western democracies. But I feel like the US has been sliding farther into “destructive individualism” over the past couple decades, and COVID accelerated the process. People are just caring less and less about the consequences of their actions and the impact on other people. Driving is the most obvious and visible example, but it is happening across the board.
Same thing happened when people lost their minds over wearing masks or vaccines or anything else like that.

It’s around 30 degrees here in beautiful DuPage County. Just a touch of snow coming down. Couldn’t ask for more in January, really.

Slippery glazing with freezing rain, etc. in the 708/60827. Will have to start using Oil-Dry as I don’t have much salt left. Not really interested in driving anywhere to get more salt; idiots about in my area.
