  1. The vandalism of legislator vehicles in the Capitol complex employee parking lots over the weekend, including that of Rep. Sanalitro, is all the more reason that in the fall HB4567 needs to be further amended to not just cover library employees, but also public employees of all kinds–state, local, and federal–and their property.

Also SOS Police needs to work with Springfield Police to permanently install several of those 24/7 portable security cameras or whatever they are, similar to what they frequently have downtown and outside the mall. If it means that it turns the Capitol Complex into the Vatican of Springfield, then so be it.

  2. Still no cicadas in McLean County as far as I can tell. That being said, I’ve seen a video from a cousin in their neighborhood in the west suburbs of those critters in their yard that was admittedly revolting due to how many hundreds of them that there were, so I’m happy with that absence as a result for now.

  5. No Cicadas here in my part of West Central IL, but I did see a lot in Decatur this weekend, while visiting family. My relatives were going on and on about them, as if Armageddon had begun. I thought they were pretty interesting, and harmless.

What on earth are you talking about? Breaking into cars is already a crime. Also that bill concerns threats of violence, it has absolutely zero to do with car burglaries.
