The ECHL Bloomington Bison announced yesterday that they affiliated with the New York Rangers. Gotta admit, as a Normal resident that despises the Blues, I was fully preparing myself for the Bison to affiliate with St. Louis. Glad that I won’t be rooting for a rival’s lower-end prospect pool next season at least.

I usually feed about 10 ducks twice a day (equally male and female) in adjacent pond. For the last week or so all males, no females to be found. Must be moms caring for duckling season. Still haven’t seen a cicada yet in NW suburb.

I hate the cicadas in my backyard. My kids and dogs love them. The kids are picking them up and chasing each other around with them. The dog is eating them.

I am so done with the cicadas. I did notice the past couple morning fewer nymphs molting into new cicadas so *hopefully we’re over the hump in our area.

for some bizarre encounters find an online group re the cicadas. People traveling to Illinois to see them. People sad they don’t have them. Posting photos of all kinds of finds. People asking for locations where found. It’s like for the eclipse only weirder.

The Dolton/Thornton Township dance of Tiffany Henyard continues to spin, with a claim by her that certain bills were apparently “paid by mistake” from Township money. Also the Township budget hearing was cancelled for a lack of a quorum, and WGN has sued Dolton for ignoring FOIA requests of spending records.
