Is this the worse year of Chicago baseball ever? White Sox are on pace to be a historically awful team, so pretty evidently obvious that their rebuild utterly failed. And in spite of all of that, Jerry has the gall to try to get public money for a new ballpark. Oy.
Meanwhile, the Cubs were expected to take a step forward to divisional contention, and instead have seemingly regressed in a major way on multiple fronts.
You have a good argument that if you took the best of the Cubs and the best of the Sox and combined them onto a single roster, that CubSox team would still not be a legitimate playoff contender. Pathetic.

Also, not to be a sports-only focus, but the Bulls drafted a Hinsdale native named Matas Buzelis, and he and his family had the best reactions to getting drafted of anyone that I can remember seeing for at least the past few years. Great story, and worth looking up clips of his and especially his brother’s reactions if you get the chance.

I hope the Sox break the record for most losses so they are at least successful in accomplishing something for the record book. If they don’t, no one will remember how bad this team actually was!

If it is true the Sox had a sellout night, good on ‘em. They remind me of the movies “Bull Durham” and “Major League.” I hope the fans will continue to support the team, and accept the fact that they are simply one of the worst teams in baseball this year. Time heals all wounds, and one day they will be back. (Not the Cubs however. Not the Cubs).

Bulls made a good draft choice but I do not understand the trade of Caruso. They had other teams appear to offer better deals…It is almost like they decided hey lets make it so for a while the White Sox do not appear to be the most incompentent sports team in the city.
