Nice to see the “East Central Reporter” is back at it just in time for election season. /s (Halbrook article in the sidebar) I wonder if the print edition will be in my mailbox soon?

Illini and Bears were borderline mirror images of each other. Offense mostly got bailed out by the defense and both teams had to overcome decent-sized deficits in the second half to get the win.

Expectations for Caleb were stupidly high because of being the first overall pick. Historically most rookies don’t perform like Stroud did last year. Remember Mac Jones for the Patriots being the best rookie of the 2021 class the first year starting?
People need to pump the breaks on all the hot takes for at least a month or three.

1. Bears: The Sox slogan “Winning Ugly” definitely applied to that game.
2. Weather: Was that a taste of autumn in the 60827 over the weekend?
3. Fake newspapers: I feel deprived of my dose of propaganda arriving in my mailbox, since I’m in a solidly Dem-voting area with few independent voters.

The Bears surrounded Williams with a talented receiver corp and a sub-par line. The best receivers in the game won’t help you if you aren’t protecting the guy throwing the ball.

To borrow a line from the late, great, Denny Green, the Bears are who we thought they were. You build a great team from the inside out, not the outside in. Then again, when you look at the whole stadium debacle…

We can’t get it together. Sydney and her team left. Now who will Shepard my agenda through Springfield? What’s his name?
