Opening day for petitions for the Consolidated Election in the spring, at least for municipal offices.

This string of beautiful days continues somehow. We’ll be shoveling snow soon enough, so enjoy…

Last time we got rain was October 4 and it was barely 1/10 of an inch. I think it’s been close to 6 weeks since we’ve had a good soaking.

Glad to see Election Day up close. I’m tired of not knowing who this country is. It’s time to be either reassured, or to find out everything I was taught as a child doesn’t matter anymore. Get it over with, I want and need to know who we are.

I think there’s a fair to good chance you’re not going to like the answer.

Yes dry Lake Bloomington way down no water on east and south side. Not as bad as I have seen in in years past but way down.

Or will we find once again the majority lose out to the Electoral College?

Seems the Democrats have gotten pretty good at controlling the weather.

TO Grimlock at 10:39am: The majority didn’t “lose out”. Biden took 51.3% of the popular vote, and 306 Electoral College votes. And Biden took Illinois 57.4% to Trump’s 40.6%. So “the majority lost” is still fake news.

=So “the majority lost” is still fake news.=
Narrator: The Democratic candidate has received more votes than the Republican President in 5 of the last six elections (2000, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020) but has only won the Electoral College in three (3) of those instances. (2008, 2012, 2020)

I wanted to compliment Rich for getting a citation in the Washington Post’s recent article on the CPS fiasco. I also continue to wonder how many grenades the Mayor of our good city can lob off in a week. https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2024/10/21/chicago-schools-covid-money-crisis/

I spent Saturday in Milwaukee.
I am so glad I don’t live in a swing state.
