  1. Our Ginko trees have lost most of their leaves. Only a few oaks still have them. Oh, and the furshlugganer honeysuckle are still green, I may go out and cut/pull some of those today.

  2. I was flipping channels last night and saw Adam Kinzinger on the Christiane Amanpour show. In the background over his shoulder, it read “The Woodlands Texas.” I don’t know if that’s where he has been installed by the left wing foundation money.

He had an open collar, no tie. Next I expect him to start wearing brown jackets with shoulder patches like the PBS guys in Anchorman.

  3. Saw a “snow likely Thursday” notice on my phone that made me rue Midwestern winters quite a bit.

My phone has since *downgraded* that to “wintry mix likely Thursday afternoon.”

  4. Lots of speculation and name throwing going around about potential ‘27 Chicago mayoral hopefuls. Yes, it will be a crowded field, but I hope to see some professional restraint here. Anyone can rattle off the names of ambitious politicos and random alders. We’re still two years out, folks.

  6. Pruned back my roses (in containers) this morning and will add mulch and move them into the garage tonight. Windy and chilly here in 60634, but it is November 20th after all. Just hoping the roses survive–it was my first summer growing them (they did pretty well) and are in honor of my rose-loving uncle who died several years ago and my aunt who died this year. I’m not known to have a green thumb.

  7. @Leslie K, may their memories be a blessing. Sounds like you’re growing a beautiful tribute. I wish you a warm garage and strong roots all winter long.
