Special meeting of the Des Plaines city council last night in which consultants presented a plan to redevelop downtown. It was impressive, I guess. But I couldn’t help but walk away with a few questions like why bring in consultants to do what should be the job of the professional staff? Also, why are we continuing to invest in more and more housing when there is no business environment to keep the people who live in the housing to spend their money here in town? Why not bring in the businesses first?
Anyway it’s snowing and I might be extra grumpy because of all the brushing and shoveling.
