* What’s going on in your part of Illinois?…
We’re almost to $26,000 in our annual drive to buy Christmas presents for foster kids. Thanks!
But we need to keep it going. Lutheran Social Services of Illinois has lots and lots of foster kids in their care network and we’ve raised enough to buy presents for about 40 percent of them. So, please, click here and give whatever you can. Thank you!!!

Looking back on yesterday and all my posts, did anyone guess that exam week was over for me *smile*
Happy holidays to each of you this season. And God bless the workers of Lutheran Social Services. They are examples of why the season matters.

All of this transit fight stuff seems so on-brand Springfield fighting. Task forces, blue ribbon task forces, working groups, agency consolidation, who gets to pick the chair of the new agency, does the Mayor get 3 appointments to a new board or 4. Its all so pointless and none of it even begins to address the real problems with the CTA, Metra and PACE. All of the debate is over process and structure and not on the fact that the CTA is a dangerous mode of transportation and Metra is expensive and a miserable riding experience. But seriously though, lets keep focusing on how many seats the Speaker will get to appoint to a new mega-oversight Board.

any odd drone swarms happening in Illinois? the ones in Va and NJ are concerning. how do we prepare for any such events? what are the laws on informing about drone usage? laws on shooting something down?

Just came across a fun thread about the history of Chicago’s Anti-Superstition Society.
