  1. Someone with a direct line to Alexi please ask where he got the sweater he’s wearing in the photo in this story. It is glorious.

  2. Hawks have won 3 games in a row. Been quite a while since they won 3 consecutive games. Maybe this new Coach is a good choice.

  3. The most unfairly criticized Christmas song - it’s not my favorite, but it’s good!

FWIW, this is my favorite Christmas song, and deserves a larger listenership! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTQFWC7o3qg

  5. Let’s be honest, there is only one truly great rock and roll Christmas song. It’s not up for debate.

  7. Being technologically by my electronic devices I don’t know how to add a link, but I always start my Christmas music season with “Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues. If it was able to be played from the altar at Shane MacGowan’s funeral it should be able to get past the “Uncivil comments, etc.” guidelines.

  8. Party City apparently closing down shop nationwide today, and doing so with employees only finding out this very day. Also being done in such a fashion where benefits are immediately being terminated.

A quick glance at GoogleMaps suggests that there are at least 20 Party City stores in Illinois, so probably a safe bet that a few hundred Illinoisans just lost their jobs and benefits a mere five days before Christmas (and after they did their holiday shopping, no doubt).

I’m not doubting that their business model stopped turning a profit, and maybe even and end of year closure was necessary, but putting thousands of people out of work nationwide and terminating their benefits with zero notice this close to Christmas? There’s only one word for that, evil.
