I’m a relatively right-leaning Dem when it comes to crime, but this bill seems to want to cower the members of the parole board to never issue a parole to anyone under 70.

Sorry not to advance the discussion, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you two. I work in a one-person shop and can’t be everywhere at once. I cannot tell you how helpful it is to be able to hop onto the site to get real-time updates like your “liveblog” posts.

It remains entirely undemocratic and against the spirit of the American system to refuse to call a bill for a vote unless you can be sure it has 60 votes from one party.
The Speaker just allowed his own governor to get played by a mayor with single digit approval numbers.
Skilled lawmakers don’t need a supermajority to govern
