Transportation secretary Duffy acting (illegally) to cut off EV charger speeding is yet another example of Senator Durbin failing Illinois. Duffy is a climate-change denier. Yet instead of opposing him on that ground - or instead of opposing all Trump nominees until the retribution, purging of employees, and illegal impoundments stop, Senator Durbin voted for Duffy’s confirmation.

Senator Durbin just doesn’t get it. After all his service for Illinois, his time is past. He should step aside.

While I agree that the Democrats should be opposing the majority of Trump nominees you surely realize that the decisions in these agencies are being driven by the White House. The leaders of these agencies are going to be good boys and girls and do whatever they are told to do. They are figure heads only.

@Demoralized - None of what you said explains why Durbin voted to confirm this person as DOT secretary. It’s clear he got zero concessions or goodwill for the state of Illinois for doing so.

Now is Durbin gonna vote to confirm Blago as Serbia ambassador? IIRC Durbin was strongly supportive of Trump commuting his sentence.
