The IL House delegation has shown a lot more fight in this battle with DOGE than our Senators. I hope they vote against cloture on the CR, but expect they will cave.

Driving down to Texas and noticed the following phenomenon once we crossed the border: semi trucks going 20 mph under the speed limit being slowly passed by semi trucks going 18 mph under the speed limit.
Maddening.

@MrJM
That would be maddening but I would pay to see a semi truck going 20 mph under on any of the Chicago highways

What was the speed limit at the time? Texas is 80 mph so 20 under would be 60 mph or the best speed for fuel economy for trucks
The law sets the maximum at 70 mph, but allows the Texas Transportation Commission to establish a maximum speed limit of 75 mph, or 80 mph or 85 mph if the highway is designed to accommodate that speed on the highway system if that speed is determined to be safe and reasonable after a traffic or engineering study. A maximum speed limit of 80 mph within 10 counties on Interstate 10 and Interstate 20 is also permitted.

Praying the storm and winds coming in do no harm. Seems like the USA is experiencing more and more extreme weather. Buckling down for tomorrow’s storm and our future democracy, as well.
