  3. Wouldn’t an apple be more appropriate?

    12.5 years seems a little lean.

  7. ===Really? Life? ===

    I would suspect at many points in Madigan’s 50 year career in the legislature he could have ceased practices that constituted felonies. After all, when do you think these felonious practices started?

    If he dies in prison, he dies in prison. That’s one of the consequences of committing felonies in your 70s. People who don’t want to die in prison should probably, maybe, avoid in committing felonies in their 70s.

  8. Years of corruption and exploiting his office, the suggested sentence seems appropriate - and please spare us the argument about his age. He could have left office decades ago as a rich man.

  9. And the Republicans will count on their TACO to pardon them so they aren’t worried.

  10. ===unwavering presence===

    Not the term I would use when it’s clear the specter of his corruption continues to hang over Illinois and his corruption wound its way into every part of Illinois government.

    Democrats hold their felons accountable.

    True, as bad a Madigan was, at least his career was short

  15. There were some interesting letters. I will say I appreciated there were some from normal folks who were helped by Madigan or his office, which I don’t recall seeing in Burke’s letters of support.
