Today I’m marking the passing of author Edmund White, who came of age in Illinois and wrote so well of it.

All is well with my family.

Even though 970 and 1450 are all under the same roof now, it will sure be weird listening to Sam Madonia on 970 starting July 1st. But hopefully Kevin O’Dea and Woodward’s changes will help bring WMAY back to its former glory. Maybe they could convince Jim Leach to come back at least part time? Sure missed having his breaking news reports the day of the YNOT tragedy in Chatham and my finding out the hard way about the tragedy and related road closures due to the accident.

This morning’s CST Morning Edition is reporting that finally Comcast and Chicago Sports Network have made a deal, and that CSN will finally be added to the systems–albeit on the Ultimate Tier (aka premium channel)–starting tomorrow:

@ Leatherneck… Then what will become of Marquee Sports?

So happy for you and yours.

@Behind the Scenes – Chicago Sports Network is the Sox, Bulls, and Blackhawks venture. The Cubs will still have their own thing with Marquee.

@Behind the Scenes,
According to the poster “Orion’s Belt” on this AVS message board re: Chicago OTA TV, he is claiming that Marquee will “supposedly” be moving to the Xfinity Ultimate tier after this season. Surprise, surprise.

Waiting for water soaked front lawn to dry so I can mow. Ponds filling up quite well though, needed the soaking rain.

Kudos to Chicago natives Taylor Townsend and Evan King on their runner-up finish in the mixed doubles tournament at the French Open (and for giving Chicago a shoutout during the trophy presentation).
King has also made the semifinals in men’s doubles which is still ongoing.
