* From a Rep. Sue Scherer (D-Decatur) fundraising email…
I’m thinking her consultant might be a bit peeved that Rep. Scherer shared the secret sauce, but also that she didn’t follow the consultant’s advice.
Discuss.

Whoops.
(Which reminds me of the Supervisor and Charlie from Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America, Vol. I, The Early Years.

Huh, didn’t expect FOMO to be a campaign tactic, interesting.

As a fundraising consultant, I’ve never sent a client any script that looks like that. It sounds like what AI would say if you asked it how to write a fundraising email.

Not sure that sauce is all that secret.

I think that guidance is more ChatGPT than a consultant.

Clearly AI.
Automated idiocy.

lol I’m pretty sure that’s the default text Constant Contact provides when you start an email campaign

I had a Nigerian Price tell me those secrets many years ago

A lot of people must be using it because that describes every one of the dozen or so texts and emails I get every day.

The cherry on top is the outdated contribution limits. Yeesh

(Begin by pointing out something that happened)
(Then remind everyone of how that’s the opposite of what they said)
(Close with a snarky observation so real it’s ridiculous)

Her worst offense is capping the highest sponsorship level at the contribution limits set in 2021. A “tidal wave” shouild be valued at $72,800.

Campaign error aside, I’d like to know how giving contributions to this specific incumbent directly is “supporting the upcoming blue wave.”

She can now add a huge star in the top right corner with the line “As featured on capfax!” To get even more interest.

Go big or go home with these sponsorship levels. Good luck representative. S/

This isn’t from AI or a consultant—both would have created a far better template. This is a default email marketing prompt from Constant Contact. Someone accidentally sent a draft, despite the multiple previews and confirmation steps before the email goes out

Between this and posting arguably campaign material on her official social media page, it’s been quite a few days for her campaign

===a sense pf urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like “for a limited time only” or “only 7 remaining!”===
For those times when you want your campaign to look like the scam emails where they say you must order in the next 2 hours so you won’t miss out on this great deal.

Absolutely hilarious. Made my morning. Thanks for sharing what demonstrably “non-competent” looks like IRL.

Yet one more valid reason why Decatur is Decatur.

About half of Springfield, including all the east side and downtown, and even some of the west side and Leland Grove with the current map, is also in Scherer’s district. So it can’t be dismissed as a “Decatur” problem–what if it was actually one of Sue’s Springfield staffers responsible for the email messup?

I’m not in the biz, but, heh, drinks for $25 (several banned punctuation marks) But, wait, it is an open bar, right? /s

Consider this - don’t lump me in with the Scherer crew, some of us actually proof things before publishing.

Rep. Scherer’s back-to-back appearances in CapFax for bush-league mistakes are surprising when you consider that she’s been in the GA for over a decade.
