One of the public speakers at last night’s Springfield City Council meeting called for the Illinois State Police to take over the Springfield PD. In light of charges of excessive force and police brutality last Saturday night during an animal cruelty and domestic violence call in the Harvard Park neighborhood:

Personally, I’m to the point that Springfield city government needs to be run entirely by the State. Even if it means that the Governor appoints the mayor, city council and all other city officials. Might get some better governing and things done in the city.
