What’s with the track/sweat suits? Is Blagojevich *trying* to look more like a shady wanna-be thug than he already is?
Someone tell Blago to read Shakespeare’s Richard II — and understand that power isn’t simply money (or campaign contributions). It’s what you wear, how you look, and how you carry yourself. It’s also where you live — and the traditions you choose to carry on. There’s a reason, for example, that the governor’s mansion is a mansion. There’s a reason why our presidents live in a big white house — and not their own little bungalows.
I’m no psychologist, but Blagojevich is making himself look guiltier than he probably is (and that’s saying a lot.)
I’m astonished that his handlers — or whatever staff he has left — isn’t insisting (strongly) to ditch the black track suits. It’s amazing.

It also speaks volumes that his hair is always a neat little compact helmet — even when his clothes are a mess.
I suspect the focus on the hair — probably to the exclusion of everything else — is his own weird Kennedy/Clinton fantasy. Hair means strength, I guess — the Samson and Delilah thing — and I suspect this has been the sole item on Blagojevich’s self-styled “checklist of virility.”
(And I won’t even go into Blagojevich’s own comments about virility when his wife was under scrutiny.)
Blagojevich seems like a classic case — of a *lot* different cases.

I would suspect he’s been advised to go about his normal routine and look about as if he has no care in the world, but Rod rather looks to me like he’d have jumped out of his skin if the reporter would have went “BOO”. I’m thinking that trying to look/act ‘normal’ is putting a lot of stress on Rod.

I think it’s more of a Wiseguy than Elvis look.
I’m a big fan of The Sopranos. The crew (except for Tony) routinely wear track suits during the day on routine business, but always dress to the nines for important sitdowns and events. Plus, consider his actions — the shakedowns, the kickbacks, the F-bombs, the work ethic, the choice of lawyer.
On the other hand, we’ll know he’s channelling Elvis if he starts wearing capes, jumpsuits and wraparound glasses, passes out silk scarves, inexplicably does karate moves and calls everybody “Red.”
