Is this the same Mike Boland that gave a legisltive scholarship to his largest campaign donor?

Dude, you’re missing a trick here. You should be serving 100% American beef franks, no fillers, and all the fixings. Differentiate!
Here’s your slogan, too: No More Hot Dogs: Gimme a Frank!

“No More Hot Dogs” or how about No More Wienies?

It is empty out there!
The weather has been fantastic, but few are taking advantage of it. If you don’t like the annual sweaty heat of the State Fair - go! If you don’t like the crowds - go!
Since I am no fan of fried or sweet foods, I can be found taking a break in Ethnic Village drinking a Red Stripe, or in the Miller Tent quickly downing a High Life. The VanillaKids didn’t want any of the food I found for them, except french fries.
The food here is embarrassingly overpriced. $4 for cotton candy?! $6 for a bratwurst?! We’re talking fair food folks, not even close to cuisine-edible food. So, food lines are not long, unless it is priced right.
The $25 dollar ride bracelets are a deal. You can pick them up at Wal-Mart, cash or check only. The funds go to the Kid’s Miracle Network and within five rides, they pay for themselves.

There are THREE statewide legally established political parties in Illinois–the Democratic Party, the Green Party, and the Republican Party. Why are there only Democrat and Republican days at the fair? Shouldn’t there also be a Green day? Isn’t the fair supported with taxpayer dollars?

The State Fair celebrates all things agriculture. Isn’t everyday “Green day”?

Squid, you’re absolutely right. You guys should have been on it earlier (last few years). Get going for next year. As you know, no one’s going to give you anything.
It could be a blast. Set up the Green Day tent. Illinois craft beer in Green bottles. Illinois organic vegetables, produce and meat. And when you blast the other parties, you can crank “American Idiot” by…….

Republicans in Pennsylvania and in 2004 used to pay for the green party to show up at events.
6 bucks for a bratwurst is actually a good deal in chicago.
No proft booth, ah the joys of only having raised 16k.

Thanks wordslinger, but I’m not the person responsible for following up on items like this. That would be an official within the state party. Regardless, the tax-exempt state fair association should take it upon themselves to remain nonpartisan.
