Illinois Senate President Emil Jones was released from the hospital this afternoon, a day after undergoing an angioplasty, a spokeswoman said.
The Chicago Democrat will be resting at home for the next few days, said Cindy Davidsmeyer. He is expected to return to Springfield next week when the legislative session begins.
Jones sought treatment after feeling some tightness in his chest Sunday while exercising. He underwent an angioplasty –a procedure where a small balloon is inserted into an artery and then inflated to remove a blockage — Tuesday at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
Glad to hear he’s heading home.

The U of C hospital can be a very interesting one to go in sometimes. The halls can be narrow and dark and there is an interesting mixture of old and new in there. I’d say the interior maintains some of the gothic feel of the exterior. That being said, it is a superb hospital.
