  1. I thought you said you wouldn’t be updating the site over the weekend. Flip flop! Anyway, I like the Steelers for their common hertage with Iron Mike in the foothills of western PA and their grind ‘em out, smash-mouth approach to the game. And their yellow and black uniforms make them look like a swarm of bumblebees when they gang-tackle an opponent.

  2. Take the Seahawks and the spread.

  3. I’ll say Seahawks, but it’s been a while since there’s been a Superbowl that I’ve cared this little about. I probably won’t even tune in until the 4th quarter.

  4. The Superbowl of Illinois politics this year is going to be Rutherford/White.

  5. Steelers 24, Seahawks 20

Either it will be a really close game and my prediction will be close… or it will be a totally unexpected blow out. Either way, I am the only one that cares about the actual game.

  6. I just hope we have an exciting finish, maybe overtime if were lucky. I like the “terrible towels” in this one.

  7. Steelers by a field goal… Predictions for next season. Bears go 8-8 if they are lucky. Cowboys barely sneak into the playoffs and make their sixth SB appearance.

  8. As a lifelong Steelers fan, I am excited and hopeful about tomorrow. I expect Bettis, Ward, and Randle-El to find the end zone. 2 sacks for Joey Porter and an interception for Polamalu.

One for the Thumb! Pittsburgh 30, Seattle 17.

  9. Is there a game today? I’ll take Seattle, just because they’re the underdog and I couldn’t possibly care less about either of these mediocre teams (parity stinks). Actually, I just hope the final score adds up to the number I’m holding so I can win the pot where I’m going.

  10. Any confirmation to the rumor that Gidwitz is plunking down the $2.5 mill for a Superbowl commercial?

  11. Yeh, the Steelers won. I lost interest when the Bears lost to see how Blago would take credit for the Bears success.

  12. This is funny, but true:

  13. Well, I have renewed pity for the Bears, the officials just were horrible tonight: Seattle was clearly the better team going in, but when you have TD’s taken away and free ones given tothe other team, it tends to mess with your head, and it took them most of a quarter to re-compose themselves.

Best Commercials: Bud baby Clydesdale, Mastercard MacGyver, and Fedex Caveman. Worst: Pizza Hut and stupid Pepsi campaign.

  14. BTW, notice they censored the lyrics in 2 of the 3 Stones Songs at halftime, and there was no silence for the dead soldiers in Iraq. Politics at the superbowl.

  15. Game - so-so. Good luck to the Bus. Commercials:
Very Best - Baby Clydesdale (I wait for the Clydesdales every year)& Secret Fridge. Pepsi was dumb. My dog could come up with a better commercial for that kind of money.
