Bean has new poll

As a follow-up on today’s Phil Crane story, Melissa Bean reportedly has a brand spanking new poll “that shows the race is tighter than Joan Rivers’ face,” according to a reliable source in the area.

Like I wrote in the Capitol Fax today, if Crane wins, it won’t be by much.

As someone who read the Daily Herald article covering the debate, it is obvious that Crane’s people are misrepresenting what Bean said about taxes. Bean actually said she has “not been critical of tax cuts”. She did not say she has “not been critical of THE tax cuts” — there’s a big difference. Regardless of whether Bean ever criticized “The Bush Tax Cuts,” I have never heard her criticize the concept of cutting taxes. That’s what Crane wants people to think. You can be for tax cuts but not for Bush’s tax cuts. Why don’t Republicans get that?
