  19. Pat Quinn earns the backing of the Illinois Chapter of the Association of Professional Elvis Presley Tribute Artists (APEPTA) in his bid for Governor.

    “I’ve got a hunk of burning love for my friends in APEPTA,” said Quinn. “You know, Elvis was from Memphis, which is closer to parts of southern Illinois than Chicago, and Memphis is on the Mississippi river, and as you know, we’ve had some flooding problems recently. I helped fill some sandbags near Cairo, which is in part of our state called little Egypt, and there’s democracy coming to Egypt with the Arab Spring, where the will of the people will be the law of the land. Anyway, Abraham Lincoln was one of Illinois’ finest servants, and Elvis is one of Tennessee’s most famous residents, and Tennessee Williams wrote a lot of plays that are performed right here in Chicago’s many theaters, and one of our great theaters has Million Dollar Quartet on now, which features another professional Elvis Presley tribute artist, so I’m grateful for APEPTA’s support, and for the support of our veterans, brave men and women.   26. Now that Blagojevich is on his way to do the Jailhouse Rock, the King felt it was safe to emerge from hiding.

    “Man, that dude was a huuuuuuuge crook, giving the King a bad name,” Elvis said. “Quinn’s just like me. Same diet, same exercise routine, and everyone thought he was dead for a long, long time, only to come back under weird circumstances, man.”
