Question of the day

Posted in:

* From NBC Chicago

Rosie O’Donnell is in Chicago for her new gig at Oprah Winfrey’s former studios.

O’Donnell arrived to the Windy City this week to begin taping her new talk show, set to air in the fall.

In a video posted on Oprah.com, O’Donnell admits to being nervous about her return to daytime television as a talk show host.

* The Question: What advice do you have for one of our state’s newest residents?

Snark is heavily encouraged, of course.

  31. Ms O’Donnell,

While you are here in Chicago I might suggest you visit the James Franck Institute which is located at the University of Chicago, a world leader in higher education. While you are there you can ask staff, at this world class institution for the study of metals, just how steel can melt in a fire. Or, maybe, just a visit to the local steel mills might be helpful.

BTW, given the history of your last gigs, I would rent, not buy.

  34. • Pick a team. I suggest you pick the Cubs because then no one will expect you to know anything about baseball.

    • Use the CTA.

    • Complain about the CTA.

    • No ketchup on hot dogs.

    • No not eating hot dogs.

    • Downstate Illinois doesn’t start at Ogden Avenue.

    • Please don’t say “da Mayor,” “da Bulls” or “da Bears.” With your accent, it’s gonna make folks wanna smack ya.

    • Never forget that the city is bigger and more important than you are. If you keep that in mind, you’ll get along just fine.

  40. “PULEEZE employee “O”s makeup people !!!”

    Second That!

Also, both rail access (those pesky rail tank cars) and Interstate semi truck access is very accessible to Harpo Studios, so your daily makeup deliveries shouldn’t be that difficult.
