  9. Rich, I am going to use this chance to thank you for promoting Tom Irwin’s new project a few months back. I chipped in on his Kickstarter and anxiously await my package when it is all available. I’m sure I am not the only daily reader who liked his efforts and decided to help him out!

  13. For Springfield, anything involving Joe Frew or Sarah Schneider is always fun. Of course Tom Irwin at Brewhaus on Sunday nights is great. Haven’t really picked a favorite local Chicago band yet, but I’d highly recommend the open mic nights at Gallery Cabaret in Bucktown. Lots of great musicians and cheap booze.

Is that place still open? Man, I had some great times there.

  15. @ Knome

Good choice. I’ll be at the 49er Saturday night for the Geech show. I’ll buy you a drink if you can figure out who I am :)

As for my favorite…I have to go with Still Kick’n given that I’m a huge country fan. They were better when they had a fiddle player, but they are still really good because they have Kelsey Hickman as the lead singer.

Honorable Mention to: Cpt. Geech & Inspected by Twelve

Sure is Rich, I was just there on Sunday. Free chili during football, $6 pitchers, free dinner buffet, and two open mic nights, all on Sundays. I can’t believe it took me almost a year to discover the place.
