Polls

Posted in:

In case you’re wondering, I checked and at least some of the numbers in these polls appear to be outdated or otherwise not quite right.

The Coulson poll, for instance, appears to be a House Republican benchmark survey from August - long before the House Democrats began pouring in mail and troops.

Curiously, the head-to-head numbers published for that Coulson race don’t quite match up with what the Republicans had back then. Her opponent’s number is the same, but Coulson’s number is several points higher than the benchmark results. One top-level HGOP source claimed “the numbers were slightly modified in some instances,” (on their end, not on Arch’s).

When asked what the heck that meant, the Repub source said, “Let’s just say, the margin of error would be 9-10%, instead of 5%.”

Take it for what it’s worth.

  1. Hmmm….

It looks like some of the numbers may have been jumbled, eh?

  2. Coulson is going down–you can go to the bank on it. When the republicans gave up straight party voting, the democrats started winning North of the City. The opposite is true downstate. The republicans started to win there. Because Keyes is so far down, Coulson will get dragged with him. Even if its just a few points, its all the dems need. Bye, Bye Beth.

  3. Coulson exemplifies the political stances commended by voters in the 17th district. Bromburg has been subsidized to the extent of 75,000$ by Madigan and the scion of Skokie and arch pro gambling-Lou Lang. Bromburg is a Madigan operative. In 2002, Pat Hughes was slightly less indebted to the speaker-Bender was Madigan’s canidate and he was defeated in the primary by Bender, and then ensued Bender vs Hughes, a Bush vs Gore like case. Hughes was defeated, obviously, by Representative Coulson. Vote to Re-Elect Representative Coulson on November 2, 2004! In an interview with Jeff Berkowitz on his Public Affairs, Bromburg accepted compunction for many of her actions, stating “I take money from trial lawyers,” says she.
