There are only really 2 things I care about this year with the cubs. Making sure the “prospects” we have-rizzo, jackson, vitters, samarzidja we have actually don’t turn out to be complete busts and hoping soriano, soto, garza, byrd (I know) play so well that we can trade them and get something decent in return.
That and the fact the bulls and bears don’t suck the next 2 years so I have something to watch until 2015.

The Sox are off to a good start, yet you can’t talk about AJ’s bat or Peavy’s arm. Instead, it’s a cheap laugh at the Cubs.
Typcial Sox fan. It’s not enough to cheer for your team, you have to knock the Cubs to compensate for some perceived inferiority or something. It’s bordering on pathology.

Love what the Cards are doing, but concerned that the injuries are starting (Jay, too) and worried that my optimism about Waino was excessive (sue me). Thank god for the NL Central; let’s see how the birds do against such teams as Dodgers, Nats, Braves, and even the Marlins if they keep it up. Biggest thrill so far of his very young season? The pitching of Lance Lynn. Let’s hope hitters take a bit more time to figure him out.

Good start for the Cards, though concerned about Berkman and Chris Carpenter being hurt and Waino’s slow start in his return from surgery. Beltran and Matt Carpenter have more than made up for the loss of Albert. Does he have a HR yet out in LA?

Sox were off to a nice start until the mighty Orioles came to town, but the Tigers are loaded for bear.
Verlander is one for the ages, while Cabrera/Fielder is the best righty/lefty combo in baseball. Plus, it looks like they might get Victor Martinez back early.
You knew the Cubs weren’t players this year when they didn’t go after Fielder, a much better value at 27 than Pujols and the lefty power hitter they’ve wanted since Billy Williams.

The Sox have fit expectations. .500 team. Iffy offense. Strong pitching. The implosion of Morel has been something. And who knows how to fix Beckham? But Dunn and Rios haven’t been so bad this year. Just wish the idiots who reflexively boo Dunn were paying enough attention to notice.

The Cards took two out of three from the Cubs last weekend. Too bad the league didn’t schedule that series earlier in the season. You know, when the Cubs were still in contention. It might have generated more fan interest.

Combined the sox and cubs could not field a .500 club this year. At least the cubs seem to have a plan. Sox might be slightly better this year but going forward it does not look good at all.

Let’s not go nuts. Dunn has struck out 21 times in 12 games. That puts him on pace for 283 strikeouts, which would smash the MLB record of 223 (and also Dunn’s White Sox record of 177, which he set last year in only 122 games).
By contrast, Joe Dimaggio struck out 369 times in 13 years.

I go to both parks because I like baseball, but there’s no appreciable difference in drunken fools between the two. Better chicks at Wrigley, though.

Morel is killing the White Sox. Equally bad at the plate and in the field. Peavy gives me some hope, starting pitching has generally been good.
Going to Boston in July for my birthday, hopefully the White Sox are not completely out of it. Boston looks awful, Bobby Valentine is a poor manager and an abrasive personality.
As for the 16″ North Side Softball Team, that lineup is just awful. Good thing Theo and his lackeys asked the fans for at least 3 years to get it turned around.

Criticizing Adam Dunn for striking out is like being upset that water is wet.
But his OPS is up to “meh” levels so far, after being dismal. But good contact and that he seems to have better plate discipline are both encouraging.

Robin Ventura has the exact opposite temperment than his predissor. Ozzie would have over the dugout railing and chewing and spitting and moving about.
Robin sits calmly on the bench.
The Sox look pretty good. I haven’t been following that north side team, only when they play the Sox. I will go to another Cub/Sox game again at the Cell, they are so much fun! Also a Red Sox and NY game at the Cell because so many from those teams fly in just for those games so you have a nice competitive crowd.
I have a lot of hope for the Sox! They look good, some nail biters against Baltimore recently.
Despite many bases loaded and many visits by Cooper to the mound they kept Humber in and he delivered by getting outs with bases loaded.
