Dear Occupy Protesters,
Thank you fo rdeciding to march without a permit. What kind of protest would you be if you did have a permit? I disagree with many of your goals, but a protest is a protest, damn a permit!

RE: background checks
1) I had to undergo a full FBI/IBI one in the early 70’s when I was hired
2) It shouldn’t be that hard to decide which jobs should be restricted. Some are, I think, pretty obvious … like ones dealing with personal data or financial payments.

On Chicago’s $407 million water bond sale:
–Demand for the water bonds outstripped supply by more than seven-to-one with $3 billion in orders for the bonds, which will fund long-term improvements to the city’s water pipes and other infrastructure. With maturities ranging from four to 30 years, the longest-term bonds were priced to yield 3.65 percent.–
Yeah, the markets just don’t trust Chicago and Illinois. I bet JP Morgan Chase wished they were holding about $2 billion more in muni debt right about now.

Not sure where else to post this, but I feel it should be posted somewhere. I’m driving down LSD this morning heading downtown and notice in front of me a State Senate license plate with “7″. The driver was going a bit slow for the traffic, so I pass. I look inside to see Sen. Steans texting! I’m pretty sure she voted to ban such behavior. Nice example.
