  1. John Tharp, the new federal judge in Chicago, was the lead prosecutor on both Ed Rosewell and John D’Arco.

Civilized, bi-partisan power-sharing arrangement Durbin and Kirk have regarding judicial recommendations. I wonder if it happens much in other states.

  2. NBC in chicago’s top story last night included images of fire bombings in previous cities that had hosted major global summits. I got more than a few calls from friends upset with this. Another brilliant day in journalism.

  4. This is the most comprehensive NATO calendar I’ve seen so far: http://chicagostories.org/calendar/

I completely forgot the crosstown games start this weekend as well. I really wish I’d scheduled some vacation time now.

  5. The SNEED scope on the Governor and Dick Duchossois having a chat at the Derby is interesting. Maybe some hope for a gaming bill that actually creates jobs in the racing industry and gets a casino in Chicago. Let’s hope.

  6. I plan on attending the Nurses United rally in Chicago. I support the idea of a financial transaction tax to generate revenue for governments and to lessen the need for budget cuts.

  7. Another term that has lost meaning over the years. Hippie!

Republican, Democrat, liberal conservative, business attire and now hippie.

  8. It just seems a bit strange to me that Patti took this long to pay a visit to her hubby in prison. I’m not sure what the rules are but I would have thought that perhaps she would have been out to Colorado already by now.
