  1. ==Harmon’s bill…prohibits the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency from issuing a permit for a landfill in any county of 2 million people or more.==

What if someone passed a bill that prohibited the IEPA from issuing a permit for a landfill that accepted trash from any county of 2 million people or more? Sorry folks, but as the #1 waste producer in the state, Cook County ought to be able to find a resting place for at least some of its own garbage.

  2. For anyone interested, the bill in question is HB3881.

  3. Too many discussions of the summit begin with comments like, “More protestors could have been arrested or seriously hurt. It could have been a lot worse.”

But what could be much worse than a summit costing $65 million in securty alone while every “leader” in the nation talks about cutting education, health care, & pensions?

After the iraq Veterans Against the War threw back their medals the display of force was a pitiful attempt to justify post 9-11 municipal “terror” funding.

CPD or Secret Service “disappeared” some protestors for over 30 hours before the summit even began and three remain in custody with what seems like trumped up charges. It leaves me wondering if the US is becoming more like Saddam’s Iraq than Iraq becoming more like pre 9/11 US.

I’m going further left. Instead of voting Green Party I’m leaning to the Party of Socialist Liberation.

Has the home brewing equipment even been returned to its rightful owner?
