* Gov. Pat Quinn has vetoed the gaming bill passed by the last General Assembly, but not sent to him until the lame duck session’s final day. The veto message is here. It’s the usual stuff. Ethics, too much expansion, etc. Quinn reiterates his demand that pension reform take priority over gaming expansion. Again, read it here.

This can’t be possible.
Chicago Magazine ranked Rahm the #1 most powerful person in Chicago.
Quinn was ranked #70.
Based on that, you’d think the Chicago casino would be up and running now, with Rahm schmoozing the high rollers and Quinn handing out towels in the men’s room.
Some people still don’t get the difference between governor and mayor.

Yes, yes governor, we mustnt have gambling at the State Fair where families take their children.
Except, of course, for the legal betting that’s already going on during the fair … where … families … take … their (sigh) … children.

There’s a lot of unintentional hilarity in the list.
Did you know there’s an artist named Theaster Gates that has more clout than Patrick Ryan, Neil Bluhm, Fred Eychaner, Rich and John Daley and Pat Quinn?

So we can go to the Horse track to bet on the horses but we cannot go to the Horse track to bet on Black Jack, Craps, Slots etc?

So we have this huge financial crisis in the state but when a new revenue source is sent to him, one that isn’t a tax, he vetos it?
