* Oy. What a day. Personal stuff is demanding immediate attention and I simply can’t be with the blog for the next few hours. We’ll get to pensions, AG Madigan, fracking, etc. later today. Sorry about that, but sometimes these things can’t be avoided.

Speaker Madigan, while openly and boldly campaigning for his daughter Lisa Madigan on the Floor of the Illinois House of Representatives, gives a hearty “thumbs up” upon learning of Illinois Supreme Court Justice’s Anne Burke’s willingness to talk to her husband-the powerful, long-time Chicago Ald. Ed Burke about actively throwing his support behind daughter Lisa if she announces her intention to run for Governor as some expect, as well as excitedly reacting to the Justice’s assurance to the Speaker of swearing-in the younger Madigan at the next Inauguration if she is elected next Illinois Governor. Roger Ebert, famous media Film Critic, who’d just taught the Speaker how to best portray the “thumbs up” sign from his former hit movie review television show, looks on approvingly as well.
