The Anti-Christ starts squealing

Posted in:

Tristano rolls over.

In the Thursday filing, Tristano seems to lay some of the blame on his boss, saying Tristano “had the authority with Leader Daniels agreement” to give out compensatory time and employee assignments.

Tristano also served as the Executive Director of the House Republican Campaign Committee (”HRCC”), which supported political candidates.

“Here again, Tristano answered to Lee Daniels and the Republican leadership. In an effort to reduce costs incurred by the HRCC, Tristano was instructed to subsidize campaign work through the application of State of Illinois resources,” the court papers indicated.

The problem for the feds here is that the statute of limitations is about to expire on much of what Daniels is alleged to have done.

  1. Sorry for the slightly off-topic post here…but the daily Gov’s office hiring thread hasn’t been started yet. Anyhow, apparently even Blago’s attorney thinks he should not be re-elected. From today’s Tribune:

“Ronald Safer, who is representing the Blagojevich administration in the current state hiring investigation, said last week there was another forum to handle the allegations.

“I believe that there are some things punishable at the ballot box, not in a courtroom,” Safer said.”

    Interesting choice of words.

  2. I am starting to feel worried about the work load the Federal prosecutor’s office has; do they have enough good investigators and litigators on the staff to keep up with the flood?

I hope Mikey sings like a canary; the brazen power abuse of the current administration is modeled on the examples of Daniels and his ilk.

  3. my understanding is that Jack Franks was a major target of the Tristano effort under federal review - staff were supposedly working in Rockford on staff issues, but were actually in Franks’ district trying to unseat him. What does Jack Franks say as to Tristano as the most appropriate federal target, or should it be Daniels? Ask him, Rich - or anyone else.

  4. I’m guessing Franks is too busy making the Gov’s life miserable to care to much about the Tristano story.

Make no mistake, Blago and his crew will regret (if they don’t already) making an enemy of Rep. Franks. Not only is he smarter than the average bear in Springfield, but he’s like a dog with a bone.

  5. interesting as that year Tom Salvi (Al’s brother) was taking on Rep. Franks.

  6. I’m surprised Mike didn’t throw his old “mini-me”, Little Dan on the pile yet. Between the two, they should have more than adequate dirt on Daniels to make a case.

  7. Sen.Kirk “Road to Nowhere”Dillard has another priceless explanation on why DuPage County Crooks should not be troubled by AntiCrhrist’s tales in the Saturday Daily Herald. Look at what this whack job says…

“Current DuPage political leaders sought to distance themselves from Daniels and Tristano, the husband of Cook County Judge Sandra Tristano.

State Sen. Kirk Dillard, a Hinsdale Republican and chairman of the county GOP, pointed out that Tristano is from Cook County and the alleged misconduct occurred in Springfield, not Wheaton.”

  8. If Lee and AC go down, there will be a very long line of people lining up to dance on their political graves…
