  4. Leader Durkin,

    Congratulations.

Please mend fences in the Caucus.

Do it first, do it complete, and do it with nothing festering that can be healed.

After you do your mending … lead ALL the members, as I know you will.

I hope you follow the 3 Principles I have posted before, and I hope… hope … this new beginning is just that, a beginning to bigger and better things for the HGOP.

I don’t know if you remember, but I was one of a few who nominated you for the Golden Horseshoe…

    From my post …

===Jim Durkin is seen, and known, as the person his Caucus looks to for leadership,… or as the touchstone for his Caucus as they advocate the “counter” to the House Majority.===

    BE … be that advocate.

Do the job, do it well, do it to win, and do it with the dignity and class the position demands of its leader.

    Good luck.

    I will be watching.

  7. So Ty, are the checks in the mail?

Big talker. That will be an interesting follow-up in the months ahead to see if those guys can find their wallets for the House GOP.

If they were such big GOP spenders before, where did that super-majority come from? From what I understand, Madigan can raise a little money from time to time.

  12. This is a good choice, but it is disingenuous for anyone - most of all Republicans - to criticize Poe’s voting record. He represents his constituency which includes a significant number of union members. He is a REPRESENTATIVE - how remarkable!! There is a saying, “Anytime two people always share the same opinion - it makes one of them useless.” We need Durkin, but we also need Poe. The “tent” just expanded a bit - that’s a good thing.

  18. And…. Upstate gets more power, downstate less. It probably counts as another win for Mike Madigan…

  19. Poe did the admirable thing — congrats to Jim and now let the dominoes start falling on planning for leadership positions next spring.
