  1. There were “59″ on the Procedure and Rep. Jakobsson pulling up to the building … and Harris changes effective date to June 1, 2014….

  2. Rep Ives is essentially saying that she doesn’t like the bill because religious people can’t refuse to serve gay people. In other words, anything that a religious person doesn’t like violates their religious liberty. What a joke.

  3. The live feed on ilga.gov is terrible. You get maybe 3 seconds of A/V, then a freeze, and maybe if you’re luck it comes back for a few seconds. This has been an ongoing problem for years. Which state agency is responsible for providing the bandwidth and server capacity?

  4. Note to Dwight Kay: when you said you had no prepared remarks and probably shouldn’t say anything, you should have stopped right there.

“Glitter?” Really? You don’t have a clue, man.

  5. So now judges get to refuse to do anything that violates their religious beliefs?

  6. County clerks should be able to use their religious beliefs now?

    Now he’s talking about teachers.

This whole speech by Rep Reis is laughable.

  7. == You already have civil unions. ==

    Reis voted against that too.

  8. Well, according to my religion–the one I just now made up–this Reis guy shouldn’t be allowed to marry anyone.

  9. Mary Flowers, apparently, is a federalist

  10. Rep. Yingling makes a good point about the “generationalism” of this issue, particularly in the GOP. There is a significant difference in younger and older voters (although I’m not sure if there is a generally accepted age line). Younger politicians would do well to make note of that, if they want a long career…

  11. Yes!! A big thanks to all for advocating for and passing SSM, and for equality. Today our state took a major step forward.

  12. Thank you, Representatives who voted for equality! Congratulations to you!
