* From the governor’s daily schedule…

PEORIA – Governor Pat Quinn will attend the “Help on the Homefront” telethon to help raise money for tornado relief efforts in central Illinois. The telethon will be broadcast live by WMBD, WEEK, WHOI and WTVP.

WHEN: 7 p.m.

Hopefully, some of you can watch and contribute.

I plan to contribute, but I sure don’t want the gov to answer the phone. now that I know he will be there, I will contribute online.

Sal and Susie - keep your poison to yourself. Governor Quinn is helping some folks whose lives were ruined and you want to take a petty potshot. Despicable. Check in with Bill Brady, who demonstrated class and statesmanship in his support for the victims and Quinn’s response to the tornadoes.

For those in Washington and the other affected communities I know these efforts will mean a lot as they work on the come back. The generous efforts from folks across the state who I have heard from in the past few days is not at all surprising. We know there are many who help out in difficult times.
On behalf of the families who have no way of seeing these messages I can tell you it is much appreciated.
