  1. Of course yesterday & today she put out a similar memo that said employees must come to work…and that information turned out to be oh so accurate. Projected forcast for the morning rush is -35 with wind chill, but I’ll schlep in tomorrow like I did today and hope for the best. CPD is keeping the schools closed for tomorrow, maybe Quinn should take a hint.

  2. Are these the same state employees that were directed to stay home when they got to work in the morning?

  3. It’s a wise decision by the Quinn Administration to have kept non-essential Government employees out of the Office on this dangerously cold day. I’m waiting with baited breath to see what the next TV Commercial’s theme by Rauner will be, however, slamming the move! Maybe he’ll be surrounded by a group of hard-up Parents of School-Children who were infuriated they had to stay home from work with the kids today and lose a day’s pay…!

  4. But he didn’t keep non-essential employees out of the office today…he let us all come into work and then said that we should go back out into the cold and go home. some people spent hours shoveling their cars out or their driveways only to be told “just kidding.” Keeping people home is a good idea….making the decision at 8am (when the weather facts had been known for days) shows how absolutely paralyzed the Quinn administration is & a complete inability to make (and stick with) a simple decision.

  5. As a retired 30 winter IDOT maintainer I want to speak for most of my fellow maintainers when I ask “What are these snow/cold days off everyone is complaining about?”

  6. We at CMS got the news at 9:00 AM. Several workers on our floor had been there an hour. Of course, no managers had shown up. We’ll go in again today. I wonder if the managers will bother?

  7. State employees, quit whining. You’ve got a job and a pension. Just quit whining already. You don’t have to pretend to be a Henry Bayer clone all of the time.

  8. Hey WWYB, I am not a state employee and I own a business. Quit being jealous of a pension that is underfunded, and jobs that are low salaried. I told my staff to stay home yesterday and if they had timeline sensitive pending tasks, to let me know and I’d get the work to them if they could not get it.

This post is about weather and you sniveling whining conservative figured out a way to bash not some, not half, but all state employees.

    A pox be upon you.
