  36. I’m old enough to remember years ago (Carter admin) that speed limits were reduced at the behest of the feds to reduce the consumption of gas during the energy crisis. Lo and behold subsequent studies proved that lower speed limits also saved lives. Guess those things aren’t as important any more.

  45. Plugging along at 65 mph in his campaign director’s Tahoe was fine. But the siren song of driving a fine automobile at the heady speed of 70 mph was too much for Baron von Carhartt.

    When the Baron drove up to the Rotary Club pancake breakfast in the Ferrari Testa Rossa, with a Hermes scarf, flask of gin, and Gucci driving loafers, the political consultant decided to start circulating his CV.
