  6. Illinois has thousands of people who have applied for concealed carry permits.

  24. …”Have any Republicans shown their fealty to conceal carry by pulling aside the jacket and revealing the firearm at a televised debate”?….

THat might not be a good idea since no licenses have been issued yet. Televised debate followed by a “perp” walk wouldn’t play well for any candidate, Republican or Democrat.

Comment by Kevin Highland Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 10:48 am

  30. Looks like Brady won’t be able to campaign in any establishments that get more than 50% of their sales from alcohol.

Comment by Bluefish Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 10:50 am

  31. Caption:

I support concealed carry, but I’ll won’t support an Illinois company like Springfield Armory. I’ll buy from an Austrian Company like Glock!

Comment by Kevin Highland Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 10:59 am

  32. I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Do I feel lucky?” Well, do ya, Quinn?

Comment by AFSCME Steward Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 11:16 am

Comment by Madison Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 12:01 pm

  38. “Shouldn’t Sen. Brady get his sidearm from Illinois’ Springfield Armory and support Illinois workers? Is than an Austrian Glock?”

Comment by Just The Way It Is One Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 2:53 pm

  46. Mr. Brady’ support for firearms and concealed carry is appreciated, but the purpose of concealed carry is that no one knows you are carrying.
Now, once the permits are issued, everyone who sees this ad will be wondering whether or not he is actually carrying a gun; they won’t be listening to anything else he says…

Comment by downstate commissioner Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 3:40 pm

  47. OOPs, supposed to be a caption contest. “Shot myself in the foot four years ago-aiming higher this year!!”

Comment by downstate commissioner Friday, Jan 31, 14 @ 3:44 pm

  48. Is his real message that Illinois is so crime ridden and he does not trust the police that he has to take things into his own hands?
I am just saying this could backfire more than get the votes of concealed carry supporters.
