Thanks for posting these Rich. They had promise and I checked them all out as Springfield person now living in Chicago. In the end though, the quality of them is pretty poor. Is this the first year they did this? Perhaps it will get better as time goes by.

That’s it!!!! That’s it!!! I going to the fair. I promised myself I wouldn’t for fear of eating way, way too much, but hey, after seeing your webcam, I’m a headen out. Lets see, corn dog, fries, butterfly porkchop, gyros, ribeye steak sandwich, shrimp on a stick, see the butter cow, cotton candy, taffy…..well better save something for tomorrow night. Might grab another corn dog on the way out!! And oh, the Italian sausage and maybe a corn on the cob. Could get a turkey leg to go… you think? Three days in Springfield at the state Fair, five pounds….okay 7 pounds heavier.

I did indeed manage a three-hour eat-a-thon at the fair. It was not crowded at all and excellent Fair weather. There were some great exhibits, in particular the very, very cold beer in the new aluminum cans at the Bud and Miller tents. Took in the horse show, toured the barns and deafened myself at the tractor pull. Had to leave as my bride was concerned that I might put someone’s eye out with a button violently parting from my shirt. Ended with a Funnel Cake and all was well! Tonight, I’ll start with ice cream!!
